Conceived and edited by the Athens-based artist-run space 3137, the brainchild of artists Chrysanthi Koumianaki, Paky Vlassopoulou and Kosmas Nikolaou, the book After the Explosion You Still Hear the Light is the final chapter of a 7-years research on artistic practices, artists groups and spaces of 1970s Greece. The most extensive research project run by 3 137 to date, it investigated the many (and eclectic) but yet largely unexplored affinities between the 1970s generation and the contemporary artistic production in Greece. The overall project both documents and contributes to intergenerational encounters and conversations between artists, historians, art critics and theoreticians, cultural producers, and other agents who have played a pivotal role in the local artistic creation over the last sixty years.

The publication was made possible thanks to the financial support by the J. F. Costopoulos Foundation and Gerasimos Giannopoulos.
