My Epidemic (texts about my work and the work of other artists) is the first anthology of writings by the French artist Lili Reynaud Dewar. The oldest text in the book dates back to 2003 – but was until now unpublished – whereas the most recent one is due to appear in the forthcoming issue of the art journal May Revue, of Summer 2015. The rest of the collection has been published during the last twelve years in various exhibition catalogues and magazine editions in France but mostly abroad. My Epidemic includes essays on fellow artists (Lothar Hempel, François Curlet, Caroline Mesquita, John Smith, Verena Dengler, among others), exhibitions reviews, scripts from her artist talks and a treatise on teaching.
The provocative variety of subjects and ideas addressed by Reynaud Dewar in My Epidemic stresses the anti-generalising approach she is now famous for in her sculpture and installation work – her obsession with how much difference differences make. This book also retraces how her writing style has developed during these twelve years, gaining in visibility and distinctiveness. It demonstrates the centrality of the role writing has come to play in her artistic practice. My Epidemic in this sense reads almost like a biography.
As is often the case in her projects, Reynaud Dewar has collaborated with a number of close artist friends and colleagues for this book: Verena Dengler wrote the foreword; Marina Faust created the cover; Ramaya Tegegne designed this volume and inserted two new visual essays of her Bzzz Bzzz Bzzz series within; Paraguay Press published it. It is, following the books Interpretation and PNCI, a new chapter in the ongoing collaboration between the artist and our imprint.

Le texte le plus ancien date de 2003 – il était jusqu’alors inédit – tandis que le plus récent est à paraître dans le prochain numéro de la revue May, à l’été 2015. La plupart des textes ont été publié dans des catalogues d’expositions ou des revues au cours des vingt dernière années, parfois en France mais majoritairement à l’étranger. My Epidemic contient des essais sur d’autres artistes (parmi lesquels Lothar Hempel, François Curlet, Caroline Mesquita, John Smith ou Verena Dengler), des critiques d’exposition, les scripts de ses performances et un traité de pédagogie.
Stimulants et provocants, les sujets et les concepts abordés par Reynaud Dewar reflètent, dans leur diversité, la façon dont elle s’oppose aux idées générales dans sa sculpture et son travail d’installation – son souci de prendre garde à  la différence que produisent les différences. Ce livre est aussi une manière de retracer la formation de son style qui, sur douze ans, est devenu identifié et distinctif, l’écriture prenant une part de plus en plus centrale dans sa pratique artistique. My Epidemic se lit presque, en ce sens, comme une biographie.
Comme c’est souvent le cas dans ses projets artistiques, Reynaud-Dewar a conçu ce livre de manière collaborative : Marina Faust en a créé la couverture, Verena Dengler en a rédigé l’avant-propos, Ramaya Tegegne en a conçu la mise en page avec deux nouveaux inserts de sa série Bzzz Bzzz Bzzz. Paraguay le publie et ouvre ainsi, après Interpretation et PNCI, un nouveau chapitre de sa collaboration avec l’artiste.)
